Iconic Miss Universe Theme Songs of 2004-2014

For most pageant fans, a simple track can trigger Miss Universe memories and today’s post is all about the music that we all identify with the pageant during the early 2000’s until the mid 2010’s. These are the musical scores that we most likely identify with the Trump era of the pageant.

There have been people who kept on visiting the blog requesting for the different Miss Universe Theme songs during its peak years of the Trump era. And voila, here we go! The tracks included here are the tracks that are easily identifiable by any pageant connoisseur and by all means can be described as iconic.

NOTE: This blogpost was originally published in May 25th of 2018, we have since then fixed broken YouTube links of the original post and updated information in the article. Pardon if we could not get (or find) complete videos with hi-def sounds as these musical scores were used back before YouTube even became a massive repository of videos as a social media platform.

THE MISS UNIVERSE THEME 2004-2010

The soundtrack used for the Miss Universe pageant during this time period was called the Orente Musical Score.  The entire musical score was divided into 9 parts and this is perhaps the most loved theme by millennial pageant fans. Note that this theme was predominantly used during the middle part of the Trump Era of the Miss Universe pageant.

• Orenté Introduction — the musical score played during the live-telecast as the voice over begins the Miss Universe pageant
• Orenté Major — used for the cue after commercial and during the announcement of the newly-crowned Miss Universe
• Orenté Elimination — used for the announcement of semi-finalists,
• Orenté Fashion Presentation
• Orenté Interlude — used while showing the ten finalists
• Orenté Pregunta Final — used while the final five finalists answer the final question
• Orenté Final Look — used for the final look of the five finalists,
• Orenté Announcement — used while announcing the positions of the final five delegates
• Orenté Curtain Call – used before the announcement of the semifinalists

Here are a couple Miss Universe themes used in the pageant from 2004-2010. The first one was  utilized in the announcement of the semifinalists and the other for the Final Look.

This very short snippet of the Orente crowning theme is all we can find so far of the song. As we have said, we have very rare resources in finding the Miss Universe Orente themes online.

THE MISS UNIVERSE THEME 2011-2014

In the spirit of the festive mood of the Miss Universe venue, a new theme was created for the 2011 pageant in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This new Miss Universe theme was used in different mixes and would be used in the semifinalists announcement. The theme is easy to identify with its electric guitar riffs and this was used intermittently in the final years of the Trump Era. 

Despite being used in a short amount of time, this theme is easily one of the soundtracks that defined the new decade of the pageant. Interesting to note that this theme song was used in the crowning of Miss Universe winners from 2011 to 2013.

This track would later also be used in miss Universe 2012 without the samba beat and drums.

This suspenseful music track would also be used in other editions like the Miss Universe 2013 up until Miss Universe 2019… It was used in the announcement of the top 5 as well as the announcement of the runners up and winner.

The Miss Universe theme used in the 2012 pageant incorporated bells and chimes to align with the Holiday theme of the pageant. This was however a repurposed track from MU 2011.

This was the first time that the Miss Universe pageant was held in the month of December and it also showed then owner Donald Trump as Santa Claus.

By the Miss Universe 2013 pageant, the use of the MU theme started to wane and were used mostly on ads and was the start of more musical guests on the pageant. But not to worry, we are able to get the Miss Universe Preliminary track that was used in 2012-2013…

After the Trump Era of the pageant, a new Miss Universe Theme was commissioned which is used to this day. With 10 variations/ remixes of the new  theme, pageant fans won’t tire of it anytime soon…
