Amandine for 2020, Clemence for 2021!

It’s official! Miss France 2020 Amandine Petit will compete in the 69th edition of the Miss Universe pageant in Hollywood, Metropolitan Miami, while Miss France 2020 Clemence Botino will represent France in the 2021 edition of the pageant tentatively in Costa Rica!

Usually, it is the Miss France of the previous year who competes since the national pageant takes place at the same time as the national competition in December. In an Instagram live session with Miss France national director Sylvie Tellier announced which Miss Universe edition the two Miss France winners will go to.

Amandine Petit, Miss France 2021, will compete at the 69th Miss Universe pageant in May in Florida, USA. It is reported that she will compete first so that it frees her from schedules that might conflict with her duties as the reigning queen for the Miss France 2022 pageant, which is also held annually in the month of December. Amandine mentioned in the Instagram live chat that she wants to be able to turnover her crown later this December specially since the Miss France 2022 is scheduled to be hosted in Caen, a port city in the Normandy region. Amandine represented Normandy at the 2021 Miss France pageant.

ClĂ©mence Botino, who was crowned Miss France 2020 last December of 2019, will be France’s delegate to the 70th Miss Universe competition which is reportedly to take place in December in Costa Rica.

The international competition having been canceled in 2020 due to the Covid-19 pandemic, will have two pageant this year: one slated in May and the other in December. No news is yet available on who will be representing France at the Miss World pageant in Puerto Rico this December 16th.
