With no assurances that the local NCR+ bubble will lift restrictions on mass gatherings and curfews any time soon. It is quite safe to assume that the Binibining Pilipinas 2021 would be postponed to a much latter date than the announced April 17th finals.
If our assumptions and rumors are correct, then the finals might happen sometime June 6th. With that lengthy delay, there are a few more things that we believe would be great additions to the pageant activities and finals. These are suggestions that we believe would help boost the image and brand of the Bb. Pilipinas pageant and build more exposure for the remaining 34 candidates to even out the playing field.
It’s official! We have 34 lovely candidates competing for the Binibining Pilipinas pageant this year!
The Binibining Pilipinas Charities Inc., has posted recently the glamshot portraits of the candidates on their official social media pages. The girls will be competing for four Binibining Pilipinas titles – Bb. Pilipinas International, Bb. Pilipinas Grand International, bb. Pilipinas Intercontinental and Bb. Pilipinas Globe.
According to pageant moles, insiders and yes even frenemies, there will be a lot of reasons pageant fans will be glued to the Binibining Pilipinas pageant this year. So we have gathered all the rumors and gossips we have been hearing for quite some time and present to you in one neat package…
Disclaimer: these are just rumors, so let’s manage our expectations as these may turn out to be false after all…
This year’s Binibining Pilipinas pageant is officially for the year 2021 and will be in partnership with ABSCBN!
While the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated is still to issue an official statement in partnership with the network, it is safe to say the the pageant will be telecast live with the Kapamilya network. Alco Guerrero (son of ABSCBN head Chit Guerrero?) is tapped to direct the national finals for April 17, 2021 at the Araneta Coliseum. On the creative side of the pageant, Maribeth Bichara is tapped to do choreography.
The Binibining Pilipinas pageant is the oldest running national pageant in the Philippines. Throughout the past the pageant is been deemed to be slow to change, preferring to stick to its tried and tested formulas.
All of this started to a change 4-5 years back when the pageant started to adapt and adopt progressive steps in its way of handling the pageant and its winners. While it would be too much to ask for a new pageant franchise to be added to its roster, we nevertheless focus on the more achievable wish-list for today’s blog post.
Pageant wardrobes have always been number 1 in every Filipino pageant fan wishlist. From 2015 onwards, pageant winners were allowed to have a say on their outfitsfor their international pageants. This allowed more freedom for the BBP winners to select the designers and glam teams that they would want to work with. This has always been a sore point with fans who clamored for better gowns and national costumes for our reps. The winners now also have longer ties with the Binibining Pilipinas Charities Incorporated with longer contracts of 18 months. Even the candidate contracts have also been extended to 6 months.
