It is Friday so it must be time for another #FashionFridays post.
It’s Menswear Fashion Week in Milan and we see reigning Mister Universal Ambassador Aleksa Gavrilovic walking the secret fashion show of Dolce & Gabbana Sartoria show for Spring-Summer 2018. The show happened the evening before the unveiling of the designer duo’s SS 2018 collection. The Sartoria collection is a much different affair as a handfull journalists were invited to the more intimate show without their knowledge that they will be witnessing the tailoring collection of the Milan-based fashion house.
Aleksa walked the runway at Dolce & Gabbana’s perma-buzzy Martini Bar on Corso Venezia. He was one of the models joining with other Dolce & Gabbana male model favorites like Adam Senn, Sam Webb, Evandro Soldati and Arthur Kulkov.
We have almost a dozen international competitions for men in the past year and we know at least a couple more international competitions being assembled for 2017. So as not to lose track, we listed down several of the male international competitions we saw last year.
In alphabetical order, here are the male international pageant winners of 2016…
Man of the Year – Karan Singhdole, Philippines
Manhunt International – Patrick Sjoo, Sweden
Men Universe Model – Marlon Steven Polo, Panama
Mister International – Paul Iskandar, Lebanon (the 2016 pageant was postponed due to the demise of the King of Thailand last year the pageant was supposed to be held)
Mister Global – Tomas Martinka, Czech Republic
Mister Model International – Narapat Sakulsong, Thailand
Mister Supranational – Diego Garcy, Mexico
Mister Tourism World – Okkar Min Maung, Myanmar
Mister United Continents – Mohit Singh, India
Mister Universal Ambassador – Aleksa Gavrilovic, Serbia
Mister World – Rohit Khandelwal, India
Mister Globe and Mister Tourism International 2016 pageants were postponed/ cancelled due to unforeseen events (Mister Globe was supposed to be in Paris but due to the attacks last year, was forced to cancel the event). This 2017 will be the inaugural year of Mister Grand International and Man of the World competitions.
With the number of male pageants these days, we might have missed some on the 2016 list. So care to mention them on the comment box below….
For today’s #FashionFriday, we have reigning Mister Universal Ambassador Aleksa Gavrilovic during last month’s Milan Menswear fashion week walking for two important shows for Dolce & Gabbana.
The 6’1″ model and male pageant titleholder was one of the handsome lads who walked the runway of the designer duo’s Spring-Summer 2017 show and their Alta Sartoria show at the Teatro La Scala. The Alta Sartoria show at the Teatro La Scala was a huge feather in his cap as this is the menswear version of the Haute Couture shows and not a lot of journalists are invited to cover such event, to say that being picked to walk the show is a huge notch to his model resume.
Aleksa revealed to this blogger that the brand wanted him to do the show exclusively (meaning he was locked out to only do Dolce & Gabbana that comes usually with a hefty salary). He also mentioned that he was given special attention by the designer when he was personally attended to by Stefano Gabbana by trimming his facial hair to have his jaws more prominent in the show.
There is much more to expect from Aleksa coming into his reign. And we will be there to give you all the juicy details and exclusives…
Spot Aleksa on these two videos from the backstage of the two Dolce & Gabbana shows…
Last night was a lovely night for this blogger as I was able to talk in length with the reigning Mister Universal Ambassador Aleksa Gavrilovic from Serbia.
He just arrived yesterday from Milan in 17 hour flight to Jakarta (that’s with a layover at Abu Dhabi and Singapore). Despite being tired and jetlagged, he has been quite game to answer questions from us for a couple of hours into dinner. MUA President/ Chairperson Edin Muhammad invited us to a lovely dinner at the Merlynn Park Hotel where we were able to do the interview and a couple of Facebook Live videos!
The 6’1″ model has just finished with modeling gigs in Milan, with no less than Dolce & Gabbana. He has grown back his trademark face scruff and is leaner nowadays for modeling assignments. Tomorrow Aleksa will be at the International Youth Forum at the Universitas Negeri Jakarta, where he will be announcing which country will be the host of the Mister Universal Ambassador 2017 pageant! As of now three countries are revealed as possible hosts: Thailand, USA and India. We will all know the host country soon!
The 24 year old looks much more handsome nowadays. He will be having several shoots around Jakarta and he will be flying back to Milan after 10 days to finish up a modeling gig in the fashion capital. It was also revealed to us that when he comes back to Indonesia later, he will be travelling to several countries, the Philippines included!
We cannot divulge much as of yet but you will be expecting huge things coming from Mister Universal Ambassador this year and Aleksa Gavrilovic is going to be a busy titleholder for the rest of his reign!
