Prostitution Scandal Rocks the Miss Venezuela Organization!

Prostitution allegations has rocked the Miss Venezuela Organization!

Allegations on the Miss Venezuela organization and Osmel Sousa for pimping out girls to businessmen and government officials

Allegations surfaced that the Miss Venezuela pageant operated as a prostitution and trafficking network for women and at the center of it all is the man that brought countless crowns for the country, Osmel Sousa. According to reports from several Venezuelan media, Sousa would have subjected his candidates and queens to degrading acts, selling them to sponsors who paid for them high sums of money, to be able to pay for their participation in the contest. In the process, MVO would obtain resources that would allow them to support the famous mansion of beauty.

Venezuelan journalist, Patricia Poleo unleashed a controversy after accusing Osmel, of ‘prostituting’ candidates to government officials in exchange for ‘sponsorship’ money, operations, gifts and property. She called Sousa for using his connections and position at the MVO to procure meetings to businessmen and officials who would act as pageant ‘sponsors’. In return these sponsors and officials would support these candidates for pricey surgeries, apartments, gifts and other amenities to support the candidates in the local and/or international pageants. A hefty cut is said to be given to Osmel and the organization to be able to live comfortably in Venezuela and in the US. “Osmel is looking for the American nationality and, therefore, must live in the US“, says Julio Rodríguez Matute, beauty contest historian.
The Miss Venezuela pageant has denied such claims through the official Instagram account of the organization. Cisneros Media and Venevisión refuted the allegations that has named employees, advisers, sponsors and partners, as well as candidates as accomplices of such ‘unlawful acts’. It further stated that, “The companies responsible for managing the Miss Venezuela Organization wish to clarify that they strongly reject any attempt to involve them in acts other than the nature of their activity and are unaware of any type of relationship or act that could violate the spirit, ethics and values of the event.” They also clarified that they are currently working on the restructuring of the team, after the departure of Osmel.

A former Miss Venezuela hopeful, Vivian Sleiman, has posted her experience on the contest and with Osmel on her Instagram: When the Czar of Beauty when he saw me in an advertising campaign he sent me a call. I was training for 5 months with one of the best coaches in the contest. My defect was my shyness and I went under the table that year, two months before the presentation to the press I was left without a band. The following year they called me, but in the way of that passage they made an indecent proposal: You have to go where “Fulano” one of the toughest sponsors of the contest he has to see you and take your swimsuit… Being just 20 years old and not knowing a lot of things I wondered why? If the Czar of Beauty had seen me, why did I have to go to that guy? After two weeks I went … but at an early age I learned to be guided by my instinct and I told one of my brothers to come with me because I feel something I do not like … the Man was waiting for me in the meeting naked in a white boxers … Then I learn many more things … and that nobody has dared to speak.

In a report by noticiasaldiayalahora.co, journalist Patricia Poleo named Miss Venezuela 2014 Mariana Jimenez to be one of the beauty queens that had links with a Venezuelan government official. She stated that everything that was spent on Jimenez “was financed by the president of the Central Bank of Venezuela, Nelson Merentes…” She said the girl traveled to Las Vegas with an entourage of 15 people funded by the official, in addition to what she used to compete in the Miss Universe. “The designer Raenra was the one who received all the cash to finance the trip of 15 people and who designed Jiménez’s costume. All that paraphernalia was covered with the money of the Venezuelans. (…) This girl comes from one of the most humble sectors of the country …

This is not the first time that Osmel Sousa was accused of ‘pimping out’ his winners and candidates to rich officials and businessmen. Back in 2015, Venezuelan journalist Manuel Isidro Molina accused Osmel of using his position pimp out girls to ‘sponsors’. In his blog he stated,”Osmel and Merentes [BCV’s President Nelson Merentes] have a very special relationship that hasn’t transitioned from entertainment to news, radio, television and the Internet. The first one is a provider; and the second one is a consumer, with a big checkbook in ‘bolívares’ and dollars. ‘El Zar de las Misses’ not only provides girls for Nelson, there are other consumers for his expensive girls, especially the ‘bolichicos’ and corrupted ‘viejos verdes,’ who got disgustingly rich with public resources. I am not exaggerating when I attest that this level of shame only occurs in Venezuela’s ‘socialismo salvaje,’ which is probably the most corrupted social and political experience in the Latino Caribbean history.

This throws shade to the Czar of Beauty’s earlier ‘resignation’ as more and more people are speculating that his departure might not only be due to the socio-political atmosphere of the country, but also to avoid possible prosecution should this go to a public trial. These accusations stains his illustrious career of amassing  20 alpha pageant crowns for Venezuela.

  1. I wouldn’t be surprised if not a single Venezuelan “Queen” is exempted with the pimping. If you made a deal with the devil, everything is gonna come through. This is sad.

        1. Innocent unless proven guilty. So far only these are allegations. It could have also been that Osmel didnt know that these were happening right under his nose and that he was accused simply because he was head of the org, not because he was involved.
Cisneros and the MV org has a lot of cleaning up to do…
