#Binibini12 Angelique de Leon in Val Taguba National Costume

There is nothing I like more than to see a simple styling on a very dramatic outfit…and that is what Angelique de Leon achieved in her national costume portrait.

Binibini 12’s delicate-looking white terno was made by designer Val Taguba. The tone on tone embellishment was a great showcase of couture mindset by the designer. I personally have a pet peeve on ternos with high contrast lace appliques specially if it does not go harmoniously together. This wasn’t the case with this terno, it was trés trés chic! And that drop waist skirt with a overly dramatic flounce reminded me of Dior haute couture gown during John Galliano’s tenure in the 90’s-2000’s.

What made this extraordinary is that it was paired with a toned down styling. The hair was perfection with a simple center parted low ponytail. No fussy jewelry and accessories either. With this outfit you are forced to look at Angelique in the dress and that earns extra brownie points to make it in my list of best costumes in Binibining Pilipinas this year.
